RECENT EVENTS
2025 Remembrance Service
The annual OCT Remembrance Service took place at The Old Grammar School, Sheffield Road on Tuesday 11th November. It was conducted by OC and Past President, Revd. Ron Smith.
Members of Brookfield Community School and Chesterfield College also took part.
After the service, wreaths were laid beneath the memorials to the fallen of the two World Wars outside the old Headmaster's Study, by organisations members and,
notably by Brell Ewatt DL MBE, current OCS President, who, in his capacity as Deputy Lieutenant of Derbyshire, laid a wreath on behalf of King Charles.
The opportunity of the gathering was also taken to make OCT Excellence Awards to two outstanding Chesterfield College students.
A service also took place at Brookfield Community School, when the Society was also represented. Later, a plaque, donated by OC Tim Hallett, was unveiled in memory of Mr E G Price
by Mr Price's daughters, Wendy and Sara.

2025 Old Cestrefeldians' Football Club Youth Team Reunion
This event, took place in November at the Sicily Restaurant near the Old School and marked the 60th anniversary of the Club's foundation. Click

Hurst House Auction
The auction of Hurst House took place on Thursday, September 26th. It is understood however that the property failed to sell.

Tree Planting Ceremonies.
On Friday 6th May, 2022, we were honoured by the visit of Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Colonel John Wilson OBE DL, who led the
Ceremonial Planting of two traditional oak trees at the Brookside and Sheffield Road sites as part of the Queen's Green Canopy scheme in memory of all
who have been and will be a part of the educational establishments on each site.

Chesterfield Grammar School Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945
After the 2021 Remembrance Day Service,was the launch Philip Riden's book, "Chesterfield Grammar School Roll of Honour 1939-1945.

Sutton Scarsdale Hall Visit
Following the Tour of the houses of the Founders and Benefactors of the School in July (see below), a further visit took place in early November to Sutton Scarsdale Hall which was once owned by the Clarke family, also of Walton Hall.

The Old Cestrefeldians' Trust arranged a visit for members to properties in the Chesterfield area which have associations with the founders and benefactors of the School.
